Studded belts were crafted in the 1930s to 1950s. Zip Stevenson, the owner, wanted to offer these vintage studded belts in his own shop and traveled across the United States, but he couldn't source enough to meet customer demand. Consequently, he began creating studded belts using the methods of that time. This was the start, and five years later, they were being carried in select shops around the world, gaining many customers. In 2000, he launched "HTC," or "Hollywood Trading Company." Today, the brand offers a variety of items beyond just belts, including bracelets, wallets, and boots.

This collaboration brings together BACKLASH, which has spent years pursuing the finest leather materials, and HTC, known for its unique and masterful stud work. The base leather belts are crafted in Japan by BACKLASH, then shipped overseas to be adorned with stunning stud work and engravings by HTC in the United States. This is a premium collaborative item where the strengths of both brands crossover.

Belt: Crafted using full-tan double shoulder leather, meticulously finished by a domestic tanner. The leather is dyed prior to construction, with the intricate stud work in mind. It is skived to a thickness not used in standard collections, offering high expectations for aging and ease of handling. While the rich character of the shoulder leather and the beautiful luster from the pre-dyeing process are enjoyable from the start, the color deepens and the surface develops a surprisingly smooth, polished sheen with use. An Italian-made roller square buckle is attached to the buckle and loop.

Studs: The signature "Starburst" motif is hammered into the belt end, featuring intricate metal stud work that imagines a cross based on black stones. The brand logos are engraved to frame the studs on both sides. HTC parts are used for the snap buttons, allowing for easy buckle replacement. A special leather tag featuring the collaborative logo is included. The spacing between the holes is approximately 2.5 cm.
