「GUIDI」

In 1896, three individuals—Guido Guidi, Giovanni Rosellini, and Gino Ulivo—founded the tannery "CONCERIA GUIDI E ROSELLINI" in Pescia, Tuscany, a region where leather craftsmanship had deep roots since the Middle Ages. "GUIDI" is the factory brand of CONCERIA GUIDI E ROSELLINI. Today, Ruggero Guidi leads the tannery, dedicating his energy to creating new tanning techniques with a perfect balance of his exceptional experience, tradition, and technology. It has since grown into a luxury tannery that captivates designers worldwide. In the Autumn/Winter 2005 season, the "GUIDI" collection was launched as a project. The passion for leather and tradition embodied in Guidi's shoe project defines its essence. Through his own research, transcending trends and tendencies, he creates shoes for those who desire unique pieces that blend tradition rather than mass production. These are items that only a skilled artisan can create, offering an unparalleled comfort that is easy to wear and stress-free, a privilege only the owner can experience.

CONCERIA GUIDI E ROSELLINI, a tannery with whom BACKLASH has maintained deep ties since its inception, has collaborated on this project with the "GUIDI" line. This project features a design by BACKLASH based on the "MOON05" type, which is characterized by its moc-toe within the GUIDI collection. These lace-up boots are designed with a 2-way specification, allowing for the attachment of zipper parts. A back zipper is also included to facilitate easy on and off even when the zipper parts are removed and the boots are in their lace-up configuration, addressing the common difficulty of removing lace-up boots. They offer broad versatility in styling, a unique fit unlike other models, and a superior wearing comfort combined with soles, embodying all these qualities.

We use the reverse side of horse leather, produced using traditional vegetable tanning methods over a long period, slowly nourishing the leather. Unlike the typical hard texture of vegetable-tanned leather, GUIDI's leather is characterized by its soft, supple feel, which is its greatest distinction. This special leather not only boasts a soft texture but also exudes a unique ambiance, promising not only a great break-in but also beautiful aging. These boots maximize the natural qualities of the material through finishing and processing, such as tumble dyeing after shoe construction.

※Please be aware that due to "Object Dyeing," a brand-symbolizing manufacturing method where the finished product is dyed again, the dye deeply penetrates every detail, including seams, metal fittings, and intricate parts. This results in the unique texture and aesthetic exclusive to GUIDI.
