We use 1.1mm thick full-grain velour steer leather with long naps. Unlike suede, which has short, trimmed naps, the long, raised naps of velour create a particularly rugged texture, especially for split leather. The 1.1mm thickness, slightly thicker than usual, gives the leather a more substantial presence, but to counteract the resulting stiffness, the leather is finished with a combination tanning process. By combining two tanning methods, "tannin tanning" and "chrome tanning," we achieve the unique aging characteristic of tannin while also providing the extremely soft and stretchy fit unique to chrome. For bottoms, the characteristics of combination tanning, which offers higher resistance to scratches and water than regular leather products even with hard wear, are utilized. The product is then garment-dyed after being made using the leather described above. The uneven and rugged expression with shading created by the garment dyeing results in a piece that stands out even among our previous suede leather products. The initial stiff feeling quickly transforms into a soft and supple texture with wear. This leather series is particularly exciting for its rapid aging process, where the long-napped velour suede leather quickly develops a deeper, richer character. This classic vest is crafted entirely from leather, with details true to workwear style and a standard, regular sizing. It features distinctive kangaroo pockets, and the collar, often made of rib knit, is also leather. The rayon lining allows for wear over a long period throughout the year.
