"KOSUKE MATSUI / OVERDESIGN Designer"
Mr. Kosuke Matsui is a brand designer who has, for a long time, sincerely engaged with denim, repeatedly destroying, repairing, and decorating it by hand, creating and reviving countless denim garments. He also possesses the skills of a craftsman, constantly pursuing beautiful designs amidst destruction and reconstruction.
"BACKLASH THE DENIM"
A new collection line dedicated to denim (jeans) and developed as a staple. This line re-focuses on "denim," which holds a universal position in men's fashion, and proposes denim products that do not fade but become more attractive with the passage of time.
This is a collaboration item based on denim wear produced by BACKLASH, with handmade processing by Mr. KOSUKE MATSUI.
The base material is "HIROSHIMA Selvedge Denim" blended with stretch, woven with a #7 indigo core-dyed yarn for the warp and a #8 unbleached yarn for the weft, with different thicknesses for the warp and weft yarns. By using unbleached yarn for the weft, even after a simple one-wash, the texture achieves a very profound look. For the dark indigo processing, partial shaving is performed, the shape is pressed, and then the entire surface is rubbed again. After that, through the processes of 3D processing, stone washing, and overdyeing, the denim is finished with fine shading created by spray processing. The text on the pocket lining, "REACH FOR THE MOON EVEN IF WE CAN'T. ?月に手を伸ばせ、たとえ届かなくても。" is a rock-inspired phrase that continues to inspire designer ISAMU KATAYAMA.
This brand's popular "semi-sarouel silhouette" achieves a good balance between a tight fit with sharp leg lines and a rough wearing feel, by making the rise slightly deeper and the hips a bit roomier. By adjusting the waist position when wearing, you can change the look to match various tops. It features a front button fly, and all buttons are original brand tack buttons. A special leather back pocket flasher with laser engraving is attached.
