This is a collaboration between two Japanese and American brands, "BACKLASH" and "VANSON," both specializing in leather as their main material. VANSON's iconic "Star Jacket" has been reimagined for this collaboration, retaining its distinctive racing suit-like design but rendered in a monotone color scheme. We've developed "TYPE-A," an all-black version rarely seen in the original, and "TYPE-B," a sophisticated yet subtly colored black x gray x white option. These designs are crafted to appeal to adults who experienced the Shibukaji fashion trend of yesteryear. Brand logo patches are strategically placed throughout, featuring a newly designed "backlash" in lowercase font to harmonize with "vanson." This elevates the Star Jacket into a truly unique collaboration piece. We've eliminated the zipper typically found at the back waist and added a front zipper pocket. The sleeves, originally long for racing jackets, have been adjusted to a more moderate length.
VANSON
VANSON is a motorcycle wear brand established in 1975 in Boston, Massachusetts. By actively incorporating the latest technology, their leather wear, meticulously crafted for quality, gradually gained demand, especially in the Boston racing scene. A key appeal is their exceptionally robust and uniquely lustrous leather. Simple items undergo 49 processes, while complex ones require 129, all hand-finished by skilled artisans. Only leather that meets stringent standards is used. During the dyeing process, the leather is immersed in a mixture of oil, dye, and hot water for over 6 hours to infuse color and nutrients, making it stronger and more supple. Afterward, the surface is polished and waxed multiple times to maximize the leather's inherent characteristics. Finally, a finishing process called top coating is applied, resulting in the glossy, heavy-duty Vanson leather. Before cutting, the leather undergoes multiple quality checks, and any material that doesn't meet the standards is removed. Since its founding, Vanson has staunchly adhered to handmade production. The sewing techniques of skilled artisans and their unwavering commitment to quality have created premium leather jackets that enjoy overwhelming popularity among leather enthusiasts.
