The base leather used is an undyed, high-quality Japanese steerhide, tanned with white tannin. In addition, several types of vegetable tannins, including mimosa, are combined with oil for a second tanning process, resulting in a supple texture not typically found in steer leather. In addition to the soft and light feel of the leather, the thickness is also reduced to 0.6mm, thinner than usual. This allows for a remarkably lightweight fit, even in jackets that have undergone our brand's unique heavy-duty processing to create a distinctive appearance.
Based on a very flexible textured base, the product is dyed gray. Even after shrinkage dyeing, the finish is extremely soft to the touch. After size adjustment, each garment is then individually spray-dyed black, followed by a new vintage process: each piece is hand-shaved and creased with a special liquid to create a realistic, worn-in look. This new and unparalleled process, made possible by using richly oiled leather as the base, creates a distinctive, aged feel.
