These collaborative back-zip boots were created by "Portaille," a Kobe-based shoe brand specializing in leather shoes, with the theme of fusing the "tradition of leather shoes," which has been passed down through generations based on beauty and ease of wear, with "foot-friendly shoe-making" utilizing modern technology. We provided the last that Backlash has used for many years, and each pair is carefully crafted using the "Black Rapid construction method," which combines the excellent flexibility (return) unique to the Blake stitch construction with the robust and sturdy qualities of the Goodyear welt construction.

These boots are made from full-vegetable tanned horse leather, carefully finished by a leading domestic tannery. During the leather production process, heat is applied to compress and shrink the fibers, resulting in a fine, lustrous texture and elasticity. The leather is intentionally given a large undulation and fine grain, making it slightly thicker than regular horse leather. Although heat-shrunk horsehide has a powerful appearance, it is surprisingly supple, making the product exceptionally comfortable and easy to wear from the start. As it is worn, it becomes even more flexible, conforming to the shape of the foot and forming unique wear wrinkles.
The upper has a moderate volume, while the shaft is sharply shaped, making it compatible with various pant silhouettes and a versatile choice for diverse styles. The sole is a command sole attached using the Black Rapid construction method. While a tank sole, the sides are sleek, offering excellent grip and providing moderate cushioning compared to a leather sole, making it ideal for urban use.
