We use unglazed leather, made from high-quality domestic steerhide tanned with white tannin, as the base material. Additionally, by re-tanning it with several types of vegetable tannins, including mimosa, and oil, we achieve a supple texture that is uncharacteristic of typical steer leather. Product dyeing is then applied to this exceptionally flexible base material. Even after the shrinking and dyeing processes, the result is a leather garment with an extremely soft feel. The deep black color, achieved through dyeing, is further enhanced by the leather's rich oil content, creating a highly saturated black hue. In addition to the soft and light feel of the leather, we've used a thinner-than-usual 0.6mm thickness. This allows for an extremely light and comfortable fit, creating a relaxed silhouette that can be worn casually.
The design is a fresh take on the classic swing top (Harrington jacket), a quintessential light outerwear/blouson. It features a roomy body and wide armholes for ease of movement, while the length is designed to be shorter. We've removed the characteristic dog-ear collar for a collarless specification, finished the cuffs with leather ribs, and, while eliminating the bottom rib, incorporated a drawstring for adjustable cinching at the hem, resulting in an exceptionally simple and smart design. This piece focuses on maximizing the leather's texture and versatility to match various styles. The lining is rayon, known for its smooth feel when putting on sleeves, making this a very easy-to-wear casual leather blouson. It also features a rare inside pocket on the left, a feature not commonly found in product-dyed leather jackets.
