The base leather is high-quality domestic steerhide, tanned with white tannin. In addition, several vegetable tannins including mimosa, along with oil, are used for a second tanning process, resulting in a supple texture not typically found in steerhide. A highly flexible leather base is then dyed. Even after the dyeing process, which includes shrinking, the leather jacket retains an extremely soft feel. The combination of the black dye and the richly oiled leather creates a deep, intense black color. This leather jacket, made to maximize the soft and light feel of the leather, offers a casual fit that can be worn without fuss, creating a relaxed silhouette.
This jacket features a design/pattern from the Yohji Yamamoto collection, produced by Backlash. It is a two-button, jetted pocket jacket, with punched leather of the same material used only for the inner sleeves and side panels. Although it is a leather jacket, it can be worn with a fit comparable to fabric, and the leather selection matches the flowing pattern structure of the garment. The distinctive design includes pockets placed throughout.
