We use 0.8mm thick calf leather, domestically produced and processed by one of Japan's leading tanners. The firm, springy texture conforms easily to the body and offers a relatively soft, skin-hugging comfort. It is characterized by unique wrinkle formation, creating large, three-dimensional waves. For the dyeing process, the garment is first dyed using a highly concentrated dark gray dye. Similar to conventional product dyeing, shrinkage is also added using heat control during tumble drying. After that, wax is sprayed onto the surface of each garment and ironed to set it with controlled heat, resulting in a pull-up finish that further deepens the color. In addition to the uneven appearance with shadows from the product dyeing, as the garment is worn, the wax moves within the leather, creating shades of light and dark where the color is thin and thick. This process, combined with product dyeing, expresses an even more seasoned, worn-in, and appropriately natural vintage feel. The faintly remaining white wax will blend in with wear, resulting in increased luster and suppleness. This model is a collaboration with Backlash, recreating the "6.1 THE MAN" blouson design, which is a memorable piece in Yohji Yamamoto's long history. The design remains the same, but with Backlash's renowned leather processing technology incorporated. The original model had a quilted lining, but this model has been changed to a rayon lining, making it suitable for year-round wear. The zippers used are original ones from Backlash.
