This piece uses 0.8mm thick calf leather, meticulously crafted in Japan by one of the country's leading tanneries. The leather's strong elasticity and supple texture make it easy to conform to the body, offering a relatively soft, skin-hugging comfort. It's characterized by unique wrinkle formation, creating large, wavy, three-dimensional creases. For the dyeing process, the garment is first dyed with a vibrant, strong green dye. Similar to traditional product dyeing, it also undergoes shrinking through heat control during tumble drying. Subsequently, wax is sprayed onto the surface of each garment, and then ironed to set the wax using heat control, resulting in a pull-up finish with a deeper color. The product dyeing creates an uneven texture with shadows, and as the garment is worn, the wax moves within the leather, creating a contrast between lighter and darker areas. In addition to the product dyeing, this process creates an even more appealing, naturally vintage, worn-in texture. The faintly remaining white wax will blend in with wear, enhancing the luster and suppleness of the leather.
This is a standard collared single rider's jacket from the Yohji Yamamoto collaboration. It features Yohji Yamamoto's stress-free pattern. Gussets are added at the armpits. The silhouette of this rider's jacket is different from the Backlash collection rider's jackets, creating a distinct atmosphere.
