This piece uses 0.8mm thick calf leather, meticulously crafted by one of Japan's leading tanneries, reflecting a commitment to domestic production. The leather has a strong, supple texture that easily conforms to the body, offering a relatively soft, skin-hugging comfort. It is characterized by its unique wrinkle formation, developing large, undulating three-dimensional wrinkles. In the dyeing process, the garment is first dyed using a vibrant green, strong color dye. Similar to conventional product dyeing, tumbling is used to shrink the material through heat control. Afterward, wax is sprayed onto the surface of each garment and ironed, fixing it with heat control to achieve a darker, pull-up finish. The product dyeing creates an uneven expression with shadows, and as the garment is worn, the wax within the leather shifts, creating shades of lighter and darker areas. In addition to the product dyeing process, this expresses a moderate, natural vintage feel, worn and aged. The subtly remaining white wax will blend in with wear, enhancing the luster and suppleness.
This is a classic double rider's jacket from the Yohji Yamamoto collaboration. It utilizes Yohji Yamamoto's stress-free pattern. Gussets are added to the armpits. The rider's silhouette differs from the BACKLASH collection rider's jackets, creating a unique atmosphere.
