We have used full vegetable-tanned buffalo leather from the renowned Italian tannery "MARYAM". During the tanning process, the leather is thoroughly infused with oil, and then re-oiled in its raw state to achieve even greater softness. As a result, it is more flexible and has a moist, smooth texture compared to typical buffalo leather. Despite its abundant oil content, it firmly retains the robustness associated with the strong grain unique to buffalo leather, and features an expression not found in cowhide. Furthermore, for this model, considering its ability to cinch the waist and its half-coat style, we used a base leather thinned to 0.6mm. This allows you to experience a level of flexibility that is surprisingly uncharacteristic of buffalo leather.
Based on the buffalo leather described above, we created a worn and sun-faded look through a process called "product sun-fading". After garment dyeing the product in "Dark Brown", a two-stage dyeing process was applied by unevenly spraying "Black" over it. The degree of sun-fading is adjusted by the unevenness of the spray, making this a creation that required considerable effort from highly skilled artisans. Pursuing the realistic texture of vintage leather coats, it is finished with a sun-burnt effect on the shoulders and sleeves. The result is a piece that exudes its own unique presence.
A half-coat pattern from the Yohji Yamamoto collection was produced by Backlash. The military-inspired design, combined with the sun-fading treatment, results in a vintage look. Unusually for a brand garment-dyed leather jacket, inner pockets are placed on both the left and right sides.
