We use a base made from 0.8mm thick goat leather, meticulously vegetable-tanned over a long period. While goat leather typically has a stiff, rugged image, by using a base thoroughly infused with oil, it offers superior wearing comfort compared to traditional goat leather. It is characterized by the fine grain unique to goat leather, which makes it durable and resistant to friction. Its elasticity also helps prevent it from losing its shape. The strong luster created by the processing is also characteristic of goat leather. After dyeing the leather red or blue, black pigment is sprayed over it. Then, the black on the surface is partially removed to create a mottled, well-worn look with strong, uneven shading. This evokes the image of a leather jacket where parts of the leather's surface have worn away, revealing the underlying color. However, instead of the base color showing through, we pre-dye it red or blue so that red or blue is revealed. Unlike vintage clothing, this creates a fashionable aesthetic. In addition to the weathered texture unique to goat leather, the processing creates a vintage leather feel.
This is a collared single rider's jacket, a standard item in the Yohji Yamamoto collaboration. It utilizes Yohji Yamamoto's stress-free pattern. Gussets are added to the sides. The silhouette of this rider's jacket is different from the collection rider's jackets by BACKLASH, creating a distinct atmosphere.
