The new leather type adopted for this collaboration is Turkish Steer. It is a 0.6mm thick chrome-tanned steer leather from Turkey. Unlike tannin tanning, which compacts the leather fibers, chrome tanning expands them, resulting in a softer, more pliable, and lighter product from the outset. Despite being an all-leather long coat, it offers a relaxed fit and drapes beautifully, as expected from a coat. The leather is skived to a thin 0.6mm to achieve a lightweight feel. Chrome-tanned leather does not age as much as tannin-tanned leather, so to create an expressive appearance, the product is washed to give it a less pristine finish.
This is a hooded long coat based on Yohji Yamamoto's design and pattern, with altered button placement. It features a looser silhouette, which is not typical for standard BACKLASH products. The front buttons are 30mm, and the waist belt is removable. When the belt is worn, a center snap button prevents it from falling even when hanging loosely. The vent can be opened and closed with hidden snap buttons.
