Based on domestic calf leather from Hokkaido, meticulously crafted by one of Japan's leading tanners, the leather undergoes a "white tanning" process, resulting in a pale milky white (very light beige) base. By dyeing leather that has been laboriously tanned to a white base, we fully leverage the advantages of this dyeing technique, which allows for vibrant colors and delicate, beautiful hues. The leather is dyed in two stages. First, instead of using regular dyes, we intentionally dye it gray with pigments, creating an uneven, mottled color that isn't perfectly uniform. Then, a darker gray is hand-sprayed unevenly, further emphasizing and highlighting the shading and creating a textured appearance. There is no shrinkage from product dyeing, and the white-tanned leather is softer and more flexible than conventional calf leather, offering a pleasant fit with a texture that feels like it adheres smoothly to the skin.
This is a standard collared single rider's jacket from the Yohji Yamamoto collaboration. It utilizes Yohji Yamamoto's stress-free pattern, with gussets added at the sides. The rider's silhouette, which differs from the BACKLASH collection rider's jackets, creates a unique atmosphere.
