The base leather used is 0.8mm thick goat leather, carefully vegetable-tanned over time. While goat leather typically has a stiff, rugged image, this particular leather is infused with ample oil, making it more comfortable to wear than traditional goat leather. The surface is characterized by small, beautiful wrinkles. The grain makes it resistant to friction, and its durability and elasticity make it resistant to losing its shape. The product has been garment-dyed to create a strong, uneven shading with a rich character. Garment dyeing also gives goat leather a characteristic strong luster. This creates the texture of an elegant vintage leather, distinct from mere old-fashionedness. The initially firm feel, with a moderate crispness, will gradually become soft and supple with repeated wear, and the luster will change, deepening into an even more appealing atmosphere.
This is a G-1 flight jacket adopted by the US Navy Air Corps in the 1940s. While retaining the distinctive details of the original G-1, improvements have been made, such as incorporating elastic into the action pleats on the back and making the collar's boa detachable. By removing the boa, it can be worn year-round, not just in winter. The zipper pull on the front zipper uses Italian shoulder leather. The front pockets are double-layered, allowing hands to be inserted from the side behind the flap pocket.
